Department description (3 members), serves under the jurisdiction of the court
Certification requirements to be a public guardian. Both fully certified, goal is to have all staff certified
Conservatorship appointments (person and estate)
Probate conservatorship-Superior Court appointed for various reasons, medical diagnosis
Limited conservatorship (probate)-not really done in their office, mostly by parents, defined by court
LPS conservatorship (mental health), established by LPS act, determined by psychologist/psychiatrist, petitioned every year, court authorization for non-routine treatment
Murphy Conservatorship (LPS), felonies involving harm, collaboration between various departments
Referrals to PG by calendar year and current caseload, 48/84 are LPS
Department highlights-move to courthouse without interruption of care, MOU w/SYBH, SS audit, SB43 deferment
Department goals-add a position, alignment with Strategic plan, CARE Court at the end of 2024, SB43
AV-handle unwilling to accept voluntary treatment, how? Mostly mental health conservatees, accepting medication, higher level of care or locked facilities
DB-different ending dates? Some LPS, some continuous. Struggle to keep up with new cases? Goal is to keep up and expand
