Probation’s current Probation Analyst, Dr. Lisa Lit, has served notice of her retirement effective December 31, 2020. This position serves a critical function for the Department and Probation needs to initiate recruiting for her replacement.
Dr. Lit performs many vital functions for the Probation Department, to include data management and conducting research. The Probation Analyst position is unique to the county, requiring specialized skills. Chief among these skills is writing queries and programming in multiple computer languages to maximize Probation’s ability to extract data from our case management system. Her replacement will need to possess many of these skills from the date of hire. Given the unique skill set this position requires, Probation requests your Board to advertise and hiring authority to select a Probation Analyst at the advanced index scale of up to 1.30, in order to attract the applicants with these necessary skills.
This item has bypassed committee due to the limited number of Board meetings in the remaining calendar year and the critical need to recruit.
There is no fiscal impact at this time. The actual cost will be dependent on the candidate selected and may result in a salary savings. If a cost is incurred this fiscal year, it would be covered through non-general funds.
